For many drivers, the idea of losing GPS navigation while on the road is enough to bring on anxiety or at least remind drivers to bring a charger or extra phone.

Critics of the pipeline claim that the line could contaminate the water that the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe relies upon. According to the New York Times, supporters of the pipeline claim that the line could transport half a million barrels of crude oil to South Dakota, Iowa, and to areas in the Midwest. Yet other supporters claim that it could reduce oil train and truck traffic.
BOISE and NAMPA, Idaho. According to the Idaho Statesman, Michigan lawmakers recently voted to permit driverless vehicles to operate on public roads without having a researcher present in the car. The changes in the law will make Michigan one of the few states to allow driverless vehicles on the road without a human in the car to avert an accident. Lawmakers claim that requiring a human operator inside the car limits research and development.
BOISE and NAMPA, Idaho. A recent Slate article reads like a horror story or murder mystery. In the article, Chinese drivers hit pedestrians, and then, rather than getting out of the car to help, they put their vehicles in reverse and hit the same person again, sometimes driving forward a third time, just to make sure the person is, in fact, dead. This may seem like a freak crime, something that only happens in horror movies, but in fact, it is actually common in China, where loopholes in the country’s wrongful death laws create incentives for drivers to kill pedestrians they hit rather than personally injure them. In China, drivers who kill pedestrians, pay a one-time wrongful death recovery to the victim’s family. However, drivers who injure pedestrians are responsible for paying for lifetime care of the victim. With victims who have been seriously injured, this can cost millions.
